Hello, Your Christmas gift includes the g skill trident z royal 2 sticks with 16GB, boosted to 3600MHz and XMP enabled. For most users it works fine after installation. For me it’s a different tale—overclocking causes blue screens and instability in Windows 11. I’m seeking advice: can I keep it at the stock speed of 2666MHz or push it higher until issues arise? The video displays RAM at 3600MHz but freezes on that screen. Do you know how to manually adjust the RAM speed, perhaps targeting 3200MHz or beyond? Thanks for your help! Enjoy the rest of your holiday season! 8mb.video-6dA-YMUvKvQ1.mp4

The MBOO and CPU are components in the configuration. You encountered issues with incorrect parts being connected during a previous attempt.

It's a bit frustrating. My CPU only supports 3200MHz, which is still a good upgrade. Should I adjust the CAS latency even if I push it to 3200MHz or keep it at 19?

Consider adjusting the SOC voltage to 1.15V, which powers the memory controller and boosts performance. Experiment with the ProcODT setting, as it's crucial for achieving speeds above 3200. Each CPU/motherboard pair needs a specific value, so you'll need to test different settings. Other options exist, but if these don't help, it might not be worth the effort. It's better to try and fix them rather than give up.

Let's discuss CAS at 17.

This approach could also function with minimal performance loss, though it's worth noting that AMD systems sometimes exhibit unusual behavior with certain CAS latency numbers. If an even number resolves successfully, it should be prioritized over the odd one.

You can try adjusting the CL16 settings to boost CAS latency. Check if there are any parameters you can tweak there. No need to change other values unless you're sure they affect it. Start small and see how it impacts performance.

The timing should be adjusted in the appropriate menu. 3200 CL16 isn’t strong enough to trigger any additional actions, though you might consider increasing the memory voltage at that moment. Running a memory stress test afterward would be considered satisfactory.

I can suggest a stress test that works well. Let me know if you need more details! Thank you!

I believe you've located your solution here. Previously, my AMD setup couldn't support speeds beyond 3200MHz with an i7 9700. Now, using the same RAM at 3600MHz in a 13th generation configuration works smoothly.
