Hello guys, It's been a while since I started my fight with OC of RAM and it's a tricky one, this time. Ok, here's the situation: System: Ryzen 3800X MSI X570 MPG Gaming Plus RAM Corsair Dominator Platinum 3000 CL15 4x8GB GTX 1080Ti Recently I updated my system to Ryzen CPU, I instantly noticed some strange behaviour, little stutters in games or some heavy SolidWorks modelling. I checked it out and it turns out it was XMP profile not turned on. So I turned it on and no POST for me! And that's where my journey with RAM OC starts. After many hours of fighting, trying to use Ryzen RAM Calculator, I managed to turn it on and stabilize on 3000MHz and 15-16-16-35, with DRAM Voltage = 1.38V, SOC V = 1.15V, which is clearly not satisfactory. So I have couple of questions: 1. What to do to make it more stable? There's no way I can put it in higher frequency, even if I change the latencies to 16 and higher. 2. What are your experiences in overclocking 4x8GB on E-die? I noticed strange behaviour, when OC goes wrong, sometimes the system doesn't want to boot at all, not even to the BIOS, I need to take out 2 sticks of RAM, turn it on, change settings, and finally then it boots. 3. Are these RAMs ok for this CPU, or should I consider changing it?

Adjust dram to 1.4 and refresh the bios. It might be due to FCLK constraints; 3000 runs a bit slower but shouldn’t impact performance significantly.

Thanks for the update. I've experimented with higher voltage settings, but results weren't great. The most helpful adjustment was switching the Command Rate from 1T to 2T for at least XMP mode. Regarding multiple sticks, using more than two might affect performance. I tested with two sticks and still managed 3400MHz without issues. It seems simply increasing voltage isn't enough to make it work. I'm looking for better optimization beyond just boosting levels.

Absolutely more support for the interconnect to manage Meaning using the same FCLK would lead to worse oc results

Regrettably, there are only technical boundaries and the FCLK specifications.

Increase the Cas latency to 16 for better performance. This might allow you to achieve a higher command rate and potentially return to 1T. The Trc is fine with it, though AMD seems to prefer a looser setting. Focus on 3200mhz at CL16 if possible. The heat from the components shouldn't exceed 1.2v, so you should be able to reach that without issues. Keep building up from there.

Yeah, working with AMD is pretty tough ^ this might be possible. There are several options available, though with four sticks you probably won't reach 3400.

CL 16 is the ideal spot for you. It offers smooth timing and a lot of flexibility. The frequency range is 3000-4000mhz, making it simple to adjust (as I mentioned).
