It varies, honestly. If you're not planning to upgrade later, a mid-range motherboard might suffice. Why choose the R5 2600 over the 3600 if it's significantly quicker?

I bought the MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard. Although it's costly, it works well and supports future upgrades. If your budget is under £100/$130, the Gigabyte B450M DS3H should suffice. Just keep in mind that newer CPUs may need better VRM cooling.
