Quick Battery Question
Quick Battery Question
I own a laptop that isn't portable, so I have to choose between keeping it constantly plugged in or allowing daily charging and discharging. Google advises against keeping the battery in constant charge, but the battery has limited cycles and each charge/discharge causes minor wear. Should I leave it plugged in all the time or unplug it during use and recharge it at the end of the day?
A child's battery is approaching its expiration date. Keeping a laptop fully charged continuously can harm its performance. Although there are a limited number of charge/discharge cycles, this count far exceeds what you'll experience in everyday use. Even used batteries start to deteriorate right after production and usually need replacing within about three years.
