I own a laptop that isn't portable, so I have to choose between keeping it constantly plugged in or allowing daily charging and discharging. Google advises against keeping the battery in constant charge, but the battery has limited cycles and each charge/discharge causes minor wear. Should I leave it plugged in all the time or unplug it during use and recharge it at the end of the day?

What is the make and model of the laptop? Its age? Has the battery ever been replaced? If yes, what was the source of the battery and who installed it? The main reference for information about the battery and related documents is the User Guides/Manuals.

The 2019 LG Gram has a battery health of approximately 80%. It hasn't been used much, mainly at trade shows. The battery is the original one.

A child's battery is approaching its expiration date. Keeping a laptop fully charged continuously can harm its performance. Although there are a limited number of charge/discharge cycles, this count far exceeds what you'll experience in everyday use. Even used batteries start to deteriorate right after production and usually need replacing within about three years.
