Questionmy psu needs upgrading
Hi everyone
I'm trying to enter VR and have noticed some GPUs that interest me. The issue is they require at least 750 watts of power, but my PSU only has 650 watts.
My PSU is the Seasonic Focus GX, and I'm wondering if it's still worth sticking with that brand. Would it be possible to look for a Seasonic Focus GX model with 1000 watts?
Thanks a lot!
Don't rely on the 450w rating for the 3090, as it doesn't factor in the spikes.
For the 470ti 850w, it should suffice.

The Seasonic Focus GX lineup remains excellent. Consider exploring the Corsair RMx or RMi series, as well as other Focus models such as GM and PX.
The value of a Seasonic Focus depends on its price; it may not justify the cost when compared to options like a Corsair RMx. For high-power needs such as a 1000w ATX2.4, a better choice might be an 850w ATX3.0 PSU.
Hey guys, I'm considering getting either the RTX 3090 or RTX 4070 Ti. The 4070 Ti has a higher power rating of 750W, while the 3090 is only 450W. I'm leaning towards the 4070 Ti. Some people suggested I should have more wattage on the PSU than the GPU's power needs. Should I aim for 1000W or would 850W be sufficient?
