Hello, I've been eagerly anticipating the 9070 series release before deciding on a card.
I intend to play mainly at 1440p, using ray tracing only when necessary.
I'm considering purchasing a 9070 XT, but they're currently around 1k € in Italy (Nitro version costs about 1.1k).
The 7900 XTX OC version would also be 1.1k, so should I opt for that now or hold off until prices drop?

9070 XT is a newer model compared to the 9070, and according to the reviews, it performs slightly better. The question asks for the manufacturer, model, and age of your PSU.

I'm sorry, you're asking about something better than 7900 XTX and also mentioning a 1.1k price point. I understand the concern.

It really comes down to personal preference, but the positive aspect of the AMD RX 9070 non-xt is its energy efficiency. It's essentially cheaper to operate because electricity costs vary widely across Europe.

Checked the review, but didn't care about the non-xt version—should I think about it over the XT?

I think the non-xt model is better because it consumes less power and causes less strain on the case. The more powerful components you have, the more heat the case needs to dissipate. For example, I upgraded from a 5700x to a 5900x, but the heat from that CPU made my GPU really hot until I switched to water cooling. My suggestion is to choose the non-RX 9070—it’s cheaper and easier to find.

I own a 7900xtx. Here’s what I notice.
7900xtx, great card. Offers better raw performance and more VRAM compared to the 9070 ct.
9070xt
More recent, will get support from drivers for longer. Slightly improved ray tracing than the 7900xtx. Also includes FSR 4, which the 7000 series don’t have, though rumors suggest it might be added later.
It’s pretty safe to say either choice is reliable.

I just discovered a 5070ti at the same price.
Could be better to choose this one instead.

The 7900 (and maybe 7800) cards will most likely be getting FSR 4. I'd give it greater than 80% chance from what I've heard/read.
Edit - Now I'm hearing just the opposite. Because the 9000-series has FP8 processing acceleration, which is used by FSR 4, older cards (lacking FP8 processing acceleration) will NOT be getting FSR 4.

9070XT is clearly the right choice because it offers solid RT and a FSR of 4.1, rather than waiting uncertainly for XTX.
BUT
It won’t cost $1.1k; at that price point you could get the 5070Ti, which is superior in every aspect.
