After upgrading to a 9070 XT from a GTX 1080, my PC boots up but there's no signal to the monitor from either this GPU or from the iGPU.
I wiped the Nvidia drivers with ddu and installed the detection ones for AMD. Ive tried CMOS battery and have a new hdmi cable since the new GPU is no longer compatible with the dvi cable. I'm not sure if part of the gold fingers closest to the front of the pc aren't being seated properly, tho it is clicking in to place.
I'm obviously connecting the GPU to the power supply as well. The PC boots up fine but no signal to monitor. Any help would be appreciated
Power supply 750W
CPU i9-11900K
Motherboard asus z590 a

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! I'm not entirely sure if some of the gold fingers near the front of the pc aren't being installed correctly, even though it's clicking into place. No matter which component you're using, they should always be securely seated. It might help to include images to clarify what you mean.

It seems more likely a power problem, as the motherboard lacks an HDMI display.

Insert the device into the motherboard to verify if the computer functions properly.

I mentioned using DVI before; did you adjust the input settings in the monitor options? Occasionally it doesn’t switch by itself, you need to specify HDMI as the input. Also, regarding the Nvidia drivers—did you uninstall them using DDU and then install the AMD drivers with the autodetect software? I’m not sure when this happened because you mentioned you don’t have a display. This is crucial since we’re unsure about your actions.

I removed the Nvidia drivers, replaced them with AMD ones, then installed the new GPU and encountered issues.

From DDU
Disable Old NVIDIA Drivers
Start DDU in Safe Mode: Restart your computer and enter Safe Mode. This creates a stable setting for driver removal.
Access DDU: Open the DDU application.
Choose NVIDIA: In the interface, pick "NVIDIA" from the available options.
Clear and Restart: Opt for the "Clean and Shutdown" feature to fully eliminate the drivers and restart your system.
Verify No Remaining Files: Once the computer reboots, re-run DDU to confirm no driver files or registry changes remain.
So, if I were you, I would use DDU to delete both Nvidia and AMD drivers (You don’t need to restart for each step. Just perform both uninstalls in Safe Mode as instructed).

So yeah that's what I did sorry I wasn't more clear, I followed a tutorial
I've also just tried back in the old GPU and still nothing to the monitor with the hdmi or DVI with the GPU or motherboard, so confused I thought it was just a problem with how I was installing the GPU but now it looks like something more

reverify the connection of the GPU carefully, unsure about the case or vertical mount with riser cable .. (if applicable)
verify all parts are properly linked and wires are intact.
i’d also look up the GPU’s power requirements on the PSU specifications.
ensure the PSU is activated .. . this might seem simple but i spent two hours trying to boot my pc only to realize i was switching the psu off instead of turning it on.
that one was amusing yet frustrating — i repeatedly plugged in devices and turned the psu on even when it was off, then switched back after unplugging everything to test connections.
make sure the monitor is functioning correctly; is there anything else you can connect to check?
could you try using a different TV to see if it works?

So I've definitely been turning the PSU on as the pc boots and all the fans turn on, only thing I would say is the fans on the GPU don't but I read that that's probably because they don't need to until it gets hot
I've connected my laptop to the monitor and that worked fine 😭
And after checking recommended power supply it says 750w should be fine. I haven't changed anything apart from the GPU and CMOS since it was working fine so I can't see how anything would be unplugged that shouldn't be unless it's something to do with the drivers but I can't get on with either GPU to check so a bit lost
