My RX 6600 XT is showing a drop in performance by 10-30% versus my friends' RTX2060S. I believe my card should be doing better than the RTX version. In Apex Legends, I’m averaging 140-210 FPS on all low settings, which is lower than my friends’ 250-300 FPS, and in Valorant I’m around 180-300 FPS compared to their average of 300. My FPS also lags in other games.

PC Specs
MotherBoard: Gigabyte B760M D3HP
CPU: I5-12400F
GPU: RX 6600 XT
RAM: I have two different brand RAM sticks, one Transcend 3200mhz and one Kingston 2666mhz. Neither supports XMP, but they’re in dual channel.
SSD: Patriot P300 NVMe 512GB
PSU: DeepCool DN500 500w
I was hoping for much better results with this GPU and I’m feeling a bit let down.

No, his components are slightly different. He uses an H610 motherboard, CL22 3200mhz RAM, a 600w power supply, and the same SSD but with a 1TB capacity. Even though my PC might not perform as well, it shouldn't be underperforming compared to this setup, despite other specifications being a bit lower.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
I own two different brand RAM units—one from Transcend and one from Kingston (2666mhz). The Kingston model supports 3200mhz but doesn’t support XMP, and I have them in dual channel. This setup is missing performance potential; you should use a dual channel, a tight latency DDR4-3200MHz kit, not mixed configurations. I didn’t mention the exact RAM capacity either.

For your motherboard:
PSU-DeepCool DN500 500w – this unit is faulty, please replace it.

I had hoped for significantly better results with this card and feel a bit let down.
Review the points above, then use DDU to clear all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, AMD) in Safe Mode, install the latest driver from AMD’s support site manually via elevated command—this should improve things.

Then your companion's processor performs better than yours, which more than compensates for a slightly less capable GPU compared to yours.

Esports titles usually rely more on the CPU than the GPU.

Then, bloatware can cause a difference. Malware is also a factor. Additionally, certain games perform better on Radeon GPUs compared to Nvidia ones. Typically, Radeon GPUs struggle with fewer optimized games than Nvidia GPUs. All these elements together can contribute significantly to the variation. Oh, silicone lottery is another aspect to consider, particularly regarding overclocking. To be honest, OC (overclocking) alone—using both CPU and GPU—can create a noticeable advantage. Although the i5-12400F lacks an unlocked multiplier, it still allows all cores to run at full turbo, providing an edge at the expense of higher power use, increased heat, and reduced CPU lifespan. In summary, don't judge your setup by comparing others. Satisfy yourself with what you have. If you wish for more FPS, invest in a better CPU and GPU. By the way, what is your monitor refresh rate?

165 hz i'm not worried about the fps i was expecting a much higher performance from this setup, based on YouTube benchmarks this build should definitely improve.
