Adblock has ceased to function completely on YouTube, leaving users with a blank screen during ads. Is there a solution?

Give them some time to adjust the adblock. Fixing issues requires understanding the problem before implementing a solution.

if it doesn't work within a week then it's time to panic
but just a few days isn't enough to understand the changes made by Google and find ways to counter them.

You might need to seriously think about moving to uBlock Origin. It has handled Google's efforts quite effectively so far. You could also think about including Privacy Badger. Just a note, I'm using Firefox, so results might differ.

besides the occasional short video I don't watch YouTube on my PC. I use UBlock Origin but don't understand how it blocks ads. I use New Pipe to watch long videos without ads, and it works well on mobile with Bluestacks on my PC. I'll test a long podcast in Firefox with UBlock Origin to see if it blocks all ads. If it does 100%, I'd likely stick with it again. I haven't seen a YouTube ad in a few years now.

I've been employing Firefox alongside Ublock Origin and Privacy Badger, consistently eliminating 100% of YouTube's pop-up ads over the past few years. I'm curious about how other browsers are handling this.

YT seems to be reinforcing its stance on ad blockers once more. Around the time I read an article about this, it happened to me too. In the past, these efforts usually lasted only a short time before being reversed. My perspective would be to address any criticism or reduced viewership.

I’ve noticed recently that features such as the mini player, playback resolutions, and others are being toggled on and off or adjusted somewhat. YT provides a premium subscription service. For heavy users, it’s not very costly compared to other similar platforms. It remains completely ad-free and offers higher resolution or bitrate options for certain videos. I’m not sure if it covers the "TV" feature—meaning I signed up for the free trial and don’t require much of that extra functionality. They also have a music app, but my personal preference leans more toward their curated Pandora playlists.

Anyway, I think it will likely come to an end soon, provided the approach stays consistent with previous attempts.
