Question about a dead PC - anyone can assist?
I confirmed it wasn't a PCI-express cable but a CPU one. It was a 2x 4-pin connection; the correct one inserted easily, while the other didn't. Might it have been related to the motherboard? Both the left and right 4-pin cables appeared identical with no clear reason for the left one not fitting.
The two 4pin components differ in design.
Just one of them fits into the 4pin socket.
Are the two top sections (the ones marked "TUV") meant to connect? Your 2x4 pin cable has them swapped: the left part is on the left and the other on the right. This difference might be causing the connector to not fit into the 8-pin slot.
