chrome is recognized for consuming a lot of memory. It might be using up a significant portion of your RAM. With around 50 open tabs in two windows, it could be taking up about 80% of your 8GB.
It tends to run slowly compared to other browsers unless you have a powerful machine, which is what I've noticed in my experience.
