Purchasing games overseas
Hi, your question about buying games online while abroad is interesting. If you travel to Japan during Black Friday sales, you might be able to make purchases locally using your laptop. Regarding Diablo 3 and other Steam titles, they should remain playable once you return to Malaysia. However, the games may be available in Japanese versions, so it depends on the retailer. Be aware that some titles can be region-locked, making them inaccessible outside your country. Let me know if you need more details!
You can configure your location on Steam and make payments via the app. It should work fine. If you have concerns, consider using a VPN or proxy.
You can access it in Japan, it's likely there are no restricted versions there.
As long as the game isn't restricted to Japan, everything should be okay. I use a VPN to play the NA edition of Vindictus via Steam, but I mistakenly bought the American version when using Steam. Switching off the VPN and returning to the UK version resolves the issue.
