I bought the server mainly for NAS use, but it has 64GB RAM and two E5-2650v3 CPUs. I was wondering if it could work well for a game server or something similar. I plan to run a hypervisor so I can have both a Windows 10 Pro instance and a CentOS instance. What activities do you think would be enjoyable on it?

I run it locally as a NAS, host multiple gaming servers, and manage backend tasks such as Perforce. Updated: It also serves as a render target for Blender.

Here are some solid options for running servers, even if they're not fully polished:

- **Minecraft** – Great for testing server stability and community interaction.
- **Terraria** – Offers a balanced environment for server management.
- **Stardew Valley** – Easy to set up and provides feedback on performance.
- **Roblox** – Useful for experimenting with server features and user engagement.

These games can help you gain experience without requiring a fully ready system.

Minecraft? Beyond that, whatever you enjoy! If your friends like Space Engineers, Factorio, or other games, then create a server for them! It doesn’t need to be running constantly—just available whenever you’re ready to jump in. Also, check out the forums!

I can assist you in testing any game servers you try! I'll stay on top of it.

Consider trying Minecraft once more. Would you like to set up a server together? What mod pack are you leaning toward—Hardcore Infinity or RL craft?

Gmod servers might collect small amounts of money. This could cover expenses like power costs for the computers.

I cracked the Hyper-V setup! Three Windows 10 setups are running, plus an Ubuntu server and FTP service. She’s working smoothly with HandBrake streaming to my TV. No game server yet, but I’m picking it up.
