There might be improved options available online. I still encounter issues or warnings from malwarebytes and Bitdefender, but I keep scanning my PC regularly.

Malwarebytes focuses on detecting and removing malware, while Bitdefender specializes in protecting against viruses, trojans, and obfuscated files. Malwarebytes also handles registry issues, which is another area distinct from Bitdefender's approach.

It wasn't clear if Bitdefender was used before MalwareScan or vice versa.

Bitdefender conducts a brief check regularly, likely daily? It seems this scan happened before you started using Malwarebytes.

Windows 8 includes Windows Defender. It's also a good idea to perform regular scans using MalwareBytes.

I suggest using Avast. It offers a free version that works well. Make sure to steer clear of Norton and McAfee.

I'm using the free version of Comodo Firewall. It mostly asks if any app needs to connect to the network. It's simple to operate, yet it contains quite advanced features.

Based on my knowledge of Avg, it was one of the top free antivirus options. For paid versions, it doesn’t quite match others. To be honest, I used Avg around a year ago, so improvements might have happened.
