It seems like the temperature sensor might not be working properly. You'll usually notice issues with DDR4 at temperatures above around 45-50°C. At 80°C it would definitely stop functioning.

It happened while gaming, if I left the PC running without anything else open, it dropped to around 55-60°C. Probably the temperatures are accurate since I got the same readings using an external sensor too.

Temperatures are falling quite gradually, so I stopped playing because it's taken over five minutes and I only lost about 5°C.

The program is generating random values, it seems DDR4 wouldn't even start at that high temperature.

Based on my quick online lookup, most sources suggest temperatures under 85°C are safe for DDR4.

I got identical outcomes plus or minus five using an external probe. Perhaps the air temperature is just too high—my CPU runs at 30°C with an AIO, while my GPU is at 60°C at idle, and both M.2 drives sit at 65°C at idle.
