I understand it shouldn't be this way... but it is. The best way to put it is "jittery." As soon as I adjusted my screen to 60 or 120 hz and disabled G-Sync, everything felt off. Turning it off made it smooth again. Playing a fighting game at 165hz was frustrating—it felt laggy and choppy. Honestly, I only found one game where G-Sync didn’t affect my experience... Resident Evil 3 Remake is funny because it doesn’t really need high framerates to be enjoyable. Sure, a responsive screen helps, but it doesn’t make a big difference in gameplay. You won’t beat the AI just because you’re faster by a tiny fraction of a second, since most of it’s pre-recorded.

Yes, I checked the global 3D settings and confirmed v-sync is enabled, following the recommendations from the blurbusters guide.

It seems you're suggesting you don't need to closely control everything. In the NVIDIA settings, you can enable or disable G-Sync for certain games through the program's 3D options.

Are you really experiencing extra delay? If so, could this just be a placebo effect? Check out the chart on blurbusters.com about G-sync input lag tests. You’ll see that when G-sync is paired with V-sync and a FPS limiter, and with G-sync off with V-sync disabled and a FPS limiter, the difference is around 2ms on average at 60Hz. That’s roughly the time it takes for a frame to appear on your screen (about 16.66 ms per frame). It’s likely you’re overanalyzing. Think about why you’re using G-sync—its main benefit is reducing screen tearing without significantly affecting input lag. If you stick with V-sync in games, the lag difference can be much larger. From the graph, G-sync lets you achieve this with only a small effect on input delay. So, take it easy. Give it a try and see if anything bothers you. I personally use a G-sync compatible monitor with those settings and don’t feel any lag at all.

I understand completely when it comes to overanalyzing or feeling nervous about fine-tuning your setup for the optimal experience. It’s always wise to pause and give things a chance to see if you truly enjoy what you’re doing.

I use "fast sync" there's no tearing, no additional input lag, no constantly changing refresh rate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ps: thats the thing, i tested this with 60fps lock (amongst other framerats, but its most noticeable at 60...) ... gsync on... it *still* constantly changes the refresh rate, like what in the world , it feels sooo bad, I keep missing inputs, can't react because there's always a huge delay... turn gsync off, bam, instant response!
