Problems with booting Aorus B550I Pro AX can occur. Check system logs and ensure proper installation.
Hey everyone, I need some assistance. My setup includes a PSU: NZXT 650W, a Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, a 5700XT GPU, a B550I Aorus Pro AX RAM (2x16GB at 3200Mhz). The problem is it won't boot at all—no access to BIOS. What’s unusual is that with a 6600XT it works instantly, but the 5700XT just hangs. I also found some instructions online from a Gigabyte forum, but I’m worried about breaking the warranty. Any extra details would be great. P.S. I’m not sure if this will affect my warranty.
The instructions on the forum state the BIOS reset doesn’t cancel the warranty. You don’t need to take out the battery, just briefly connect the pins for a few seconds while the PC is off—it will reset. It’s odd that it boots using another GPU. Are you certain the 5700XT is working properly?
I revised the bios to version 15 and then removed the 5700xt. It started working after that. I tried Furmark, restarted a few times, and everything functioned properly. After playing a game for a couple of hours and updating again, I turned it off. When I tried to power it back on, the same issue appeared—fan spinning up but no boot or bios detected. Here’s where I am now. I connected a 750W gold PSU and plugged everything in using the correct cables. No improvement was noticed.
1. The GPU itself is fine as a new replacement from Powercolor.
2. The PSU also performed well since the 750W upgrade didn’t affect it.
3. The remaining problems seem to be either a software glitch with the MB bios or an issue with the PCie riser affecting the 5700xt, not the 6600xt.
Insert the 5700xt, enter BIOS settings, and set PCIE to Gen 3 mode. Power off the system and replace it with the 6600xt. Many users with Gen 3 components prefer avoiding conflicts when mixing Gen 4 hardware.
I'll try it again. The time you mentioned for the 5700xt was when I set the BIOS to Gen 3 only. I don't know why it stopped working then. Even after putting the 6600xt back in, it was still using Gen 3 settings.
It seems like this might be a minor glitch. Likely it will work without any changes.
I cleared the CMOS and tried the 5700XT without the riser. It’s not booting at all, though the fan spins. No power coming out.
