Hi there, today my laptop didn’t start properly. Usually pressing the power button shows the MSI logo and the CPU fan begins to spin, but this time nothing happened. The screen only blinked twice in white, and the fans were silent. There was a slight warming of the heatsink, around 25°C or 77°F. On the second try, the screen flashed three times and everything seemed unchanged. I reset the CMOS and unplugged the battery, but the laptop still wouldn’t turn on. The manufacturer’s site for this model is here: https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GP62-6QF-Leop...cification. Apologies for the poor English.

The keyboard illumination or extra lighting activates during startup, separate from the screen. If a CMOS reset and power restart failed, the issue likely lies with the display or motherboard.

Keep the screen lid open only. No other components visible. No battery charging port present.

I removed the hard drive from that laptop and it functions properly, meaning the issue isn't severe.

It's broken. I pulled the motherboard from the laptop and found the chipset is damaged.
