Problem with XPG RAM not working.
Problem with XPG RAM not working.
I own four DDR4 3200 MHz XPG RAM modules and an MSI B550M PRO VDH-WIFI. Initially, I had two sticks totaling 16GB with both RGB functioning properly. After upgrading to four sticks for 32GB, only two of them are lighting up. I've experimented with various RGB software like Mystic Light and XPG Prime, but they only control two sticks correctly. The two that work are in the A1 and B1 slots. I'm attaching a photo for more information. Including an Amazon link to the RAM if it assists. Your support would be very much appreciated.
Besides the lighting, the RAM is working correctly and displays 32GB at the right speeds. I’ve reinserted them and rearranged them, but only those two slots are affected by the lighting. Unfortunately, I don’t have another system to test them on; my brother is constructing one soon, though I’m unsure when it will be ready.
I managed it and it kept doing the same thing. A friend mentioned buying RAM each year, which might be the reason. If not, I think the problem lies with the motherboard. It shouldn’t be too serious because I intend to upgrade to AM5/DDR5 later.
It seems the EPS connector functions as the CPU power connector. If that's correct, you only have one and it's connected directly.
I missed the EPS on my board once, and the RAM didn’t turn on. It seems all components should originate from the same source—it’s odd that two don’t function. However, both devices are connected to the same channel and aren’t working either. This might point to an issue with the power distribution to that channel. I’d look for any scratches on the board.
It seems like you're considering a potential motherboard problem, but you're planning an upgrade to an AM5 board in the future, which should help avoid major issues.
