I recently set up a PC using Windows 7 Home Premium with the German language enabled. As a Korean speaker, having the ability to read and write in Korean is very important for me. After installing the OS and completing all updates, I adjusted the region and language settings to use the Korean keyboard. However, I encountered some strange issues. In certain areas, I can type and read Korean normally, but when typing on other websites, the Korean text appears only in boxes. I attempted to download the MUI or universal language pack for Windows 7 Home Premium, but it didn’t work. It seems that MUi is only available in Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise versions. Do you have any suggestions to resolve this problem, or should I just accept it as an inconvenience? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

A brief lookup suggests you may need to download the Korean edition of 7 Home, and there are no hacks or modifications required to install the MUI.

This situation could create a tricky choice. Reinstalling Windows 7 on an SSD should protect your downloaded programs, but some minor actions might still matter. Be sure you follow all necessary steps carefully.

Programs typically save preferences in the registry, but this often requires reinstalling them. Since Steam works across platforms, you won’t need to worry about that. I’ll look for a Korean version of Windows 7 ISO for you.

Before proceeding, let me share what I accomplished so far. I acted on a suggestion from techguru. I used Vistalizator and added a Korean Language pack, which prompted a restart of the PC. While doing that, I watched some YouTube videos about upgrading Widnow 7 from Home Premium to Ultimate using an anytime upgrade method. I entered a randomly generated key, and it successfully installed. However, I became nervous and closed the upgrade window with the Task Manager. After restarting, my PC is now running Ultimate. I’m currently planning to install the Korean language pack, but I’m unsure if Windows 7 Ultimate is set up correctly or if I made an error.

The system should function properly as long as it works. Keep in mind you can't return to Home Premium unless you reinstall, and you'll need to enable Windows 7 Ultimate now. Make sure you have the activation key ready.

According to the system details, it's Windows 7 Ultimate with copyright protection and Service Pack 1 installed. A recent update is currently running, which may require a key for installation. If issues arise, reinstalling the premium version of Windows 7 Ultimate might be necessary.

I didn't mention updating. If it doesn't turn on, it will wait 30 days before continuing normally, appearing authentic to systems like MGADiag, and will automatically download any optional patches. Once the period ends, it will keep prompting you to activate, remove your wallpaper, restrict non-essential updates, and become difficult to operate.

It seems concerning. I’m just hoping the system works well even after three months. If issues arise then, at least we’ll understand their cause. Appreciate your feedback.
