Absolutely none of that, I wouldn't have bothered if there were any droplets or moisture at all.
Is there nothing stuck in the ram slot? Like a bug, a debris or something? Try to look in it.
I checked it several times but didn’t find any reference to a cause. It seems puzzling. The CPU stayed cool during smoking, which doesn’t point to a specific issue. I’ve also seen the fan stop working at that time.
I just noticed the melted part on the PCB. It makes sense now why the motherboard failed. The SATA power cable was plugged in the wrong way because I accidentally took off the black bezel while taking it out and might have put it in the opposite orientation. That doesn’t explain why the RAM isn’t working either.
