Problem with the missing capacitor in the Gigabyte GA-Z68P-DS3
Some recommendations include a 270uF 16V solid polymer capacitor, suitable for through-hole designs. A higher capacitance is acceptable, but keep it under 470uF for polymer types... I suggest looking at options from TME.EU. They have reliable stock, and you should be able to order internationally. The ULR337M1CF08 X-CON is a good fit – polymer, 330uF, 16VDC, low ESR, temperature range, and available from TME. Another choice is the ULR477M1CG1B X-CON – also polymer, 470uF, 16VDC, similar specs. For a more affordable alternative, consider the Farnell 16SEPG270W from Panasonic – polymer aluminum electrolytic, 270uF, 16V. If you prefer a different brand, the Farnell 16SEP330M+T series offers similar performance. When selecting electrolytic capacitors, opt for models like 820uF or higher with low ESR (like Panasonic series) to ensure long-term reliability and avoid frequent resets or performance drops.
Great to hear from you! I located the 16SEPG270M on RSOnline.
Yeah that's fine, but keep in mind that has a minimum order of 5. plus you may have to pay for shipping. TME.eu or Farnell may be cheaper. Farnell also has a small uk only site, CPC, which should have free shipping and stuff is in uk warehouse... but they don't seem to have polymer capacitors there.. .Here's the link just in case: https://cpc.farnell.com/
It's just more affordable to buy a pack of 5 from RSOnline compared to getting one from Farnell. I understand I might have extra, but I'm okay with that.
