Problem with sound on your laptop.
I think we can manage the daemon with systemctl and also set it to start automatically on reboot.
Apologies for the delayed response after completing the tests. It seems my headphones support all distributions, though the built-in speakers don't. This suggests the issue isn't with ASa, PipeWire, PulseAudio, etc., and there may be no available driver or patch at this time. Ideally, I could transfer audio drivers from Windows to Linux. After trying aplay -l and then executing aplay -D hw:0,0 sample.wav, the output was recorded. Note that the command worked on my headphones as well. Output: Playing WAVE '/home/user/file_example_WAV_10MG.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo Warning: rate is not accurate (requested = 44100Hz, got = 48000Hz) please, try the plug plugin Aborted by signal Interrupt... P.S. I had to "Aborted by signal Interrupt..." because it wouldn't stop, so ignore that line.
The issue you're facing seems linked to speaker compatibility with Cirrus, not Realtek. It impacts several laptop models such as Asus and Dell. Try connecting headphones—audio should function better. Others have reported success on HP forums; a fix is available at https://github.com/xoocoon/hp-15-ew0xxx-snd-fix. Upgrading to a newer kernel version (6.7.1 or later) will likely resolve the problem, as driver support was added then. The hdajackretask driver is still needed for quirks, but the core audio should work with the latest updates. For better volume, tools like EasyEffects can help, though they have limitations.
Thanks for the response. I've also received another comment from Reddit suggesting the script could resolve the issue or that compiling the 6.7.4 kernel might be the solution, given the numerous patches for Cirrus Amps. Appreciate the help—I'll try the fix right away and follow up.
We're all in this together—just trying to secure our positions!
