Discovered a forum with a comparable laptop. Someone removed the touchpad driver. I plan to test it out this evening.

Hey everyone! I discovered a fix that helped me. Here’s what I tried before:
- Ran BIOS 2.8 but the issue stayed
- Disconnected the battery and drained power (still no improvement)
- Reinstalled Windows 10 1903 from Media Creator USB (no luck)
- Updated firmware through Device Manager (still stuck)
- Observed the problem during boot, about 10 minutes each time
- Checked forums and noticed low CPU usage, making driver downloads difficult
- Used Device Manager to uninstall and reinstall processor drivers, then rebooted

This worked for me! My PC is now running smoothly. I installed the AMD chipset via the auto-detect tool from amd.com and switched to Nvidia drivers using GeForce Experience (because of DHC needs). Then I added the Nvidia Control Panel from the Microsoft Store. Hope this assists you! -Shadow Keriphin-

I'm facing the same problem as before—everything on another page fails when I try to install drivers with AMD auto-detect. I'll update my post with the details.

The process of removing the drivers didn't resolve the issue for me.

This laptop has a major a BIOS design flaw. I’m on RMA #2 for this exact issue, with no end in sight. DO NOT BUY AN ASUS DEVICE WITH AN AMD CHIP.

Through roughly ten emails with Asus support, I managed to catch their interest. They requested that I complete an engineering test form to explain the issue and the solutions I attempted. I’m hoping the thorough form reaches engineers rather than just IT or support staff. Fingers crossed. If they provide a beta BIOS that functions, I’ll upload it right away.

I'm browsing online reviews and notice many users dealing with throttling to 400Mhz. @Squilliam has been quite vocal about ASUS's silence on the matter for months, and it seems little has changed. My setup works with a Ryzen controller now, but we still depend on third-party software just to keep things running—not even at full performance. I've been loyal to ASUS for over twenty years, but this issue really pushed me. With so many people facing the same problem, starting a class-action lawsuit might be our best option. Does this sound like something you'd consider?

Please send back the laptop and consider another option.
