Problem with Minecraft lighting using 2070 Super version
I just installed 1.15.2 after 1.14.4 (Optifine) and noticed similar performance on the same map with half the frame rate. The latest update seems to impact performance. Still, I kept getting over 500 fps smoothly. Just use fullscreen for a boost, not windowed. Maybe those new features added by the developers helped? Haha
I'm not sure what to do next. You've managed most of what I thought possible. Probably if you hit over 60 frames per second and enable v-sync, you should be fine. It's strange though. Your setup is really solid. At this stage, it might just be that Minecraft is behaving oddly.
Yeah. I really appreciate the help. I am going to continue to search for a solution, though. I see no reason why I shouldn't be getting frames like you do haha. I have found that if I use v-sync, my frames drop to around 35-40. Leaving it on unlimited they sit around 60-70 intermittently. Again, I really appreciate the help and advice. I'll keep this unsolved until I can find what I deem a solution lol.
Solution (current): With these configurations plus some adjustments in Optifine, I’m able to play Minecraft 1.14 at 75fps using Sildur’s Extreme Volumetric shader (all settings left at defaults), V-sync and an x128 resource pack (Sphax Pure BD). Minecraft 1.15 presents a different challenge; I experience a marginally unstable 75fps with the same pack and shader. I credit this inconsistency to using a preview version of Optifine for MC 1.15. I’m looking forward to the stable release soon! Also, I’m running Java 14 as the Minecraft executable, which appears to be where most of my frame improvements come from. After researching, I discovered Minecraft requires Java 8, not the latest release. Newer Java versions are said to manage performance-intensive tasks more efficiently. Through some experimentation, I’ve discovered a stable workaround for these issues. @zXe Thanks for your guidance and support! You helped me avoid the hassle of constantly refreshing windows! Have a gold star haha StarLord64
It's a good idea to keep up with updates for Minecraft and OptiFine, along with Java. Once you reach a stable frame rate, having all your mods and shaders ready will make things even better.
