Have you checked the game cache integrity in Steam? A repair feature is available on uPlay as well. If you haven’t tried it yet, do so. Also, confirm your AMD drivers are current. If issues continue, consider reinstalling the DirectX patch for Windows 7. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113/en-AU

I attempted to fix it using Uplay after purchasing it, tried the DirectX method, and my AMD drivers are currently the newest.
