You performed a consistent CPU stress test and still faced issues in games that shouldn't demand much processing power. This suggests the problem isn't likely related to your CPU itself or its overclocking capability. Your motherboard is designed for overclocking, so it probably isn't the cause either.
Well a cpu test isnt gaming. Cant even compare. Gaming utilizing everything from the SSD, memory, cpu, NB, power supply. All of it. This is a system load and not a single cpu running the same calculation over and over..... So you start trying different hardware. Unplug the SSDs and use a different drive for testing. A fresh install. Test the game then. Could be even be usb device causing a restart. But with little to no symptoms and no error reports to go by, diagnoses for us helping is just a bunch of guessing.
Each driver update includes chipset drivers and bios too, which might point to a memory or Windows problem. It seems external factors usually only cause crashes in games, not general applications. If it’s a compatibility quirk, it should likely affect normal Windows tasks as well. A system reset is always an option, and adjusting some Windows power settings to high performance could help, though black screens are uncommon with this change.
