Problem about RAM speed?
my ram is Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL40... when checking ram speed in windows it displays 4000, while bios settings show 4800. my problem is that after applying an xmp profile to reach 5600, the system fails to boot and post-safe mode appears on the screen? (cpu: Intel Core i5-14600KF and motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING B760-PLUS).
Full system specs, including PSU make and model (or part number) is? Also, how old the PSU is, and was the PSU bought new or used/refurbished?

It shows us all the RAM profiles (XMP/EXPO) your RAM has, including timings.
There are programs that will override BIOS changes. Regarding RAM XMP, MoBo utility program is known to do that. E.g Asus Armoury Crate.
When i 1st got my old Intel Skylake build (i5-6600K with MSI MoBo), i did install that MSI Command Center as well. Sure, it has fancy GUI but it also completely failed to detect my RAM (which is listed in memory QVL). No matter how i tried to set my RAM to run at 3000 Mhz from BIOS (which remained stable), once i booted into OS and MSI Command Center started, it overwrote my BIOS settings and set my RAM running at 2133 Mhz.
Only fix was completely uninstalling MSI Command Center, which i did. Without MSI Command Center, my RAM speed stayed at 3000 Mhz without issues for the next 9 years i used that build of mine.

Yes, but the system specifications don't list RAM timings. That's why I also inquired about HWinfo64.
My Corsair RAM is set to default 4800 MT/s with timings 40-40-40-77, but it shouldn't operate at 4000 MT/s. I'm interested in checking the HWinfo64 details for it and understanding the available profiles.

Thank you for your feedback. Your MoBo memory QVL shows that your RAM meets the specifications tested by Asus at 5600 MT/s. There seems to be an issue with XMP not being recognized. Could you confirm if both DIMMs are correctly placed in their respective slots? The second and fourth slots should correspond to the CPU. Additionally, the timing settings your RAM uses don't match the profiles it has, which makes me think another factor might be interfering.
By chance, do you use Armoury Crate? If yes, consider uninstalling it, as it appears to be near malware. If you're using it, it might be a problem.

Running a full pass (15 tests) takes about an hour per RAM module. Four full passes would take around 10 hours. Two full passes take roughly 2.5 hours each. Two 16GB modules would require about 5 hours per pass, totaling 20 hours.
If you complete the test without errors, your RAM is likely fine. Any errors mean replacing the RAM. For thorough testing, 32 passes are recommended (per test #7).

However, most users won’t run 32 passes due to time constraints, especially with a large amount of RAM. Tech support generally suggests 4 full passes as sufficient.
If no errors appear in memtest86, you have a few options—try alternative tests or consider replacing the RAM if issues persist. If problems remain, contacting RMA would be advisable.
It was because of the incorrect memory slot, which is why it's not possible to install another 32 RAM module at 5600 MHz.
Well, it's possible but only with certain RAM configurations. Checking your MoBo memory QVL list will show you the relevant options. By narrowing your search to a 14th gen CPU and Socket Support level of 4, you can identify the compatible RAMs for all four slots. Only two models meet the speed requirement of 5600 MT/s. If you need to run four DIMMs at that speed, consider getting either Kingston model. Keeping your existing Corsair RAM outside is an option, but it's less convenient than adding more slots. There might be other compatible 4x DIMM options not listed in the QVL, but achieving full compatibility is uncertain and depends on your willingness to experiment. The RAM in the QVL comes with a warranty for its advertised performance.
