You have an Ethernet adapter built into your motherboard and connected the cable. The connection looks fine, but the Ethernet setting isn't available in your system preferences.

In Device Manager, the Ethernet adapter should be present and functioning properly.

It looks like the wire is emitting light beneath you, which suggests it's functioning properly.

Ensure the drivers for your Ethernet adapter are available. Visit the motherboard manufacturer’s site to obtain them, then install the necessary software.

As mentioned, the drivers are not installed. Also, please quote people so they can see your response.

You can still access information without internet by using offline resources or printed materials.

Transfer the files to another computer, save them onto a USB stick, and carry out the move.

I support their views on the driver, yet wonder if Windows shouldn't include a standard driver to resolve such problems?

No, many NICs require a specific driver to function properly on Windows.

It seems there are no Ethernet adapter files present. You're only seeing the onboard LAN. Could be you're missing something, or perhaps your model isn't matching (B560MX E Pro).
