If you need something tailored, proceed accordingly. The present board can manage the CPU effectively. Steer clear of models below the MSI X570 series from Unity. Asus offers solid options within that range, though their B450 model falls short in quality.

Airflow significantly improves VRM performance. The current setup works, but adding more airflow would make it even better.

Sure, clarifying that MSI and Asus are acceptable options.

Get a 3700X, avoid overspending, and your board is okay.

For the MSI x570 series, it's best to skip the boards below the MSI x570 unify (though I meant to say unify). The Unify and higher models are acceptable. The full x570 line from ASUS works well. The lower models are especially solid value for their cost.

Yes, a 3900x setup with your board is feasible.

Make sure the bios are updated. Maybe aim the fan straight at the VRM heatsink. The DRP4 isn't ideal for good airflow in that setup.

Why not purchase a 9900K now? It feels simpler than acquiring a 3900X, turning off four cores then pushing it to overclock. A 3900X is excessive for gaming, unless you're planning to play just games that need more power. A 3600 or 3700X would be better—more affordable and still delivers solid performance in most titles. It should function, I think.

it's worth noting that the i9 9900k costs 150 euros more than other options.
