This processor offers significantly more cache compared to typical gaming-focused Intel chips. The R9 3900X operates quite intensely with its 12 cores, so turning off four of them can help manage performance. It performs similarly to the I9-9900K in gaming scenarios.

The Ryzen 9 is actually quite strong. I currently own an Aorus B450 Elite, but I’m thinking about getting a new CPU and upgrading my motherboard. My main concern was the small performance gap, but I believe AMD will surpass Intel soon. In the near future, games will make the most of cores and threads. In my country, the R9 3900X is priced at around 450 euros.

Sure, here are some alternatives that avoid white and fit your color scheme preferences. Let me know if you'd like more options!

?!?!? Why buy a 3900x just to turn off cores? Plus for gaming, manual overclocking often performs worse... Let alone regular boosting, which already manages idle cores—so disabling them becomes pointless. Instead of changing hardware, update the BIOS and use the built-in cooler or a good air cooler like the Dark Rock TF. Your current Auros board works fine with some airflow.

I have a dark rock pro 4. If my mb is sufficient, I can keep using it, but I plan to upgrade since RGB fusion isn’t compatible and I’d prefer something like MSI or ASUS.

Typical B450 models support up to 65 watts of CPU power. The 3900x model reaches 105 watts, while the X470 or X570 is advised for better performance. Alternatively, consider using the 3700x instead.
