If you didn’t like it, chances are you won’t like it too. I’d likely shift my investment to something more appealing.
It's clear you're connecting with the experience, spending time on similar games like Witcher 2. The bigger scope doesn't seem as overwhelming now, and the open world feel more natural compared to the story-heavy Final Fantasy. The 1070 model can handle up to 1080p, though you might want to lower the settings for smoother performance at higher resolutions. At around 1440p, you could still achieve a solid frame rate of 50 to 60 frames per second with the right adjustments.
I view combat in Witcher titles as unappealing, similar to Fallout. I opted for god mode to focus on world discovery and story missions instead. I didn’t even manage to play through the first two games.
Witcher 3? Steam lists 160 hours, though I suspect something went wrong—I’ve logged well past that. I usually enjoy other RPGs and open-world titles, but Witcher 3 feels more like a late-90s computer RPG such as Fallout or Fallout 2: it offers many missions with little to no combat, and most tasks have an engaging twist—even simple sidequests turn into quirky situations where villagers play tricks on Geralt, the monster faces tough choices between shady groups, etc. Of course, if you prefer intense action, the combat can be challenging at first but rewarding once mastered. The downside is that you risk becoming too powerful quickly; your character can handle beasts easily, but a single mistake can leave you vulnerable and defeated. Still, the pace keeps things exciting.
I added a slight adjustment to suit the GOTY version, since it includes all the DLC and recent updates.
