No, it's not meant for you. You can't dislike 2 and like 3. It's about having 2 in an open world.

I’ve invested more than 250 hours in The Witcher 3, yet I struggle to progress through The Witcher 2’s tutorial. The combat feels especially tough and unappealing to me. In my view, it’s a major shift compared to the previous game.

I started Witcher 1 around 20 hours into the game, but gave it up after the combat became too much. Spent roughly ten hours just going through the tutorial. Later, I dove into the books and really enjoyed the story. I pushed through the tough sections and finally managed to finish. It was a rewarding experience—I’m glad I didn’t quit. Then I tried Witcher 2, but after a couple of sessions I dropped it too. After two years, I decided to tackle the game again, even though it was tough. Once I finished Flotsam, I became hooked and completed the game multiple times. I was so excited for Witcher 3 that I preordered it right away. I played through it quickly without redoing the tutorial, but a big mistake later made me quit after about 80 hours. I stopped progressing until I tackled every mystery on the map, which was exhausting. Now I’ve been playing for around 50 hours and I’m really enjoying it. I’m playing on the hardest setting and finding it much more fun—doing several things at once makes it even better.

Looking at past discussions reveals that TW3 holds a special place for me. While I explored earlier titles, the combat felt poor, so I skipped them. The second one was quick but satisfying. With #3, I’ve accumulated 270 hours and am about 10% through the third run (New Game+, death march setting), still finding it engaging. It’s the most clever, engaging, and enjoyable game I’ve ever played! Try it if you want.

I also recently acquired a 1070 and decided to try it out. It’s been about an hour of play, but the experience has been enjoyable and visually appealing. I anticipate improvement in combat skills will make it even more fun, though I’m still struggling with control and camera management. Overall, it’s been worth the effort so far. I’m looking forward to the story developments and believe this game is visually impressive. However, it’s only available on sale because the Game of the Year edition is scheduled for release later this month. If you’re considering buying the DLC, it might be wise to wait.

During my learning process, I accidentally triggered a few actions while trying to befriend a character, battling wolves in toxic gas. My quick save attempts often led to instant death.
