I recently changed my GPU a few hours ago from 1050 Ti to Sapphire RX 570. I’m experiencing this problem—load temperatures and power draw look normal even when idle, but the actual power consumption isn’t what it should be.

My GPU runs smoothly at 26 watts when idle, though I tried undervolting it. I don’t think 30 watts is too high for today’s cards, but if you’re concerned, giving it a bit more undervolt could help. There are many helpful tutorials on the advantages of undervolting, and they often show unexpected improvements in performance. The cards tend to work better with less power because they have extra headroom, which is why I prefer seeing results over reading technical papers.

The software is having issues with reading values accurately. It seems unusual that all measurements—such as SOC, sram power supply, and 16-pin HV power (which rx 570 lacks)—consist at 31.69W. Checking via HWInfo or another tool would help. In the AMD Control Center, review the Performance screen. I’ll update this post with screenshots later; otherwise, it should be around 20W or less with two monitors, and about 23W with anydesk due to screen capture and encoding overhead. The idle power with fans is typically 10–12W, but the card boosts RAM speed to 1750MHz, increasing consumption slightly.

considering undervolting, my brother did the same and from what I saw in Reddit threads, the power draw drops to around 80-85W, making it nearly as efficient as the 1050 Ti I upgraded from. I was concerned about temperatures, but while playing GTA V it only hit 58°C, I was running high settings with Natural Vision enabled. My GPU is much more powerful yet also very power-hungry. Since I have a 60Hz 1080p display, Pascal was likely the most efficient NVIDIA architecture, especially after Ampere they released really strong cards like FE.
