I'm simply trying to understand the situation without going deep into the details. I set up a gaming setup and joined Team Red for the first time in what seems like a long time. I really enjoy my PC, though I’m generally satisfied with its performance. That said, I feel there might be something wrong or that the benchmarks I see online don’t match reality. The specs look solid—Ryzen 7 5800X3D, G.Skill card, Gigabyte 7900XTX, EVGA 850W PSU, Win11 22H2. But I’ve noticed many videos showing similar hardware achieving much higher FPS than what I’m getting. Drivers are updated, thermal performance is good, and the system runs smoothly. Still, the numbers don’t always align with my experience. For instance, at 4K Ultra without FSR, I see averages around 160fps for Spiderman, 150-160 for Horizon, and 130-140 for God of War. It’s confusing—Windows and BIOS are up to date, settings seem fine, but the results don’t always match expectations. If anyone else has similar hardware, any insights would be really helpful. Thanks!
You're right to be cautious—YouTube examples aren't always perfect. Running HWinfo during gameplay can help spot unusual behavior, like voltage spikes or system temperature changes. Your 5800X3D isn’t hitting the top benchmarks yet, but it’s close. Have you checked a few benchmarks and stress tests to find any issues?
wow so much to try and sort out. first up any youtuber worth his salt demonstrating a game and reviewing a GPU CPU whatever will have their system perfectly optimised. so to improve you PC consider the following. Dump any and all bloatware. Open Startup items and disable aboslutely everything that is not need to get inot the suystem and work properly Also windows services you need to study and learn how to switch off literally eveything you do not need and windows still carries baggage for the prehistoy days of fax and 36k modems over the telephone lines. there is so much more i could say but even doin half of what i mentioned already will dramaticlly imprve things.
Windows background services and such havent been disabled but everything else is disabled, and there is no bloatware, its a brand new clean install of Win11. The only things on here are Steam and the AMD software. I really only use this PC for gaming I have a seperate computer I use for work stuff so there is no need for anything extra on this unit.
