pop-up
pop-up
One real issue we face on the internet are pop-ups. Often they ask for permission to use cookies, which I am not willing to give. Other times they want me to allow them to send updates or notifications, and that is something I definitely do not want. There is an option here to block these things, but it takes a while to set up. Blocking also takes more time than just opening the page. It's not easy to remove cookies without effort. We have to find workarounds because of this messiness. This causes a lot of trouble and inconvenience. Can you recommend some software that costs money or is free? Something that blocks those pop-ups, stops the notifications from coming through, and helps me stay focused on what I need to do right now?
Which internet tool do you use? Some browsers, such as Firefox, let you block annoying things like pop-ups, ads, and cookies with special tools called Add-ons. If you're on Firefox, just download a thing named "AdBlocker Ultimate" to stop these from happening.
There are many free browser add-ons available to do this stuff. You could try Ublock Origin, Ghostery, or Safescript.
Well the kind of pop-ups depends here. If the website owner has used different strategies like exit intent or scroll triggered ones, I don't think so there is any way to stop them. They are tactics to grow an email subscriber list. However, if you mean ad popups yes they can be blocked using various tools available online.
