hey, im new here. heres the issue im facing, my cousin's pc has this issue where when objects load (specifically in fortnite) the game lags terribly and even after the objects have loaded there is a lot of stutter when you break objects along with random stutters and crashes. ive tried resetting the windows, updating windows, drivers and bios, lowering the power limit in msi afterburner (this reduced the crashes but theyre still there, also im not sure it does what i think it does) and changing the fan curves, reinstalled the gpu driver a bunch of times and its still the same. but yeah the fortnite issue seems specific but i couldnt find anyone discussing the same issue, can you guys give me tips for pinpointing the issue or troubleshooting?

He’s opting for an RX580, though it may not be ideal for our current high-end displays.

It's a display with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels.

He’s planning to replace nearly everything except the GPU, so you’ll need a fresh build. To verify if the GPU is the issue, test it with stress or benchmark tools. The spec sheet looks solid but may need adjustments for stability—consider checking compatibility and power requirements before finalizing.

1080p works well with an RX580 unless it's exceeding 200+ Hz, which is unusual. It isn't the newest ultra-fast setup, but it can manage many games smoothly. Testing it on another machine is a solid way to check, and running some benchmarks would give extra confidence. Playing games is likely the most practical evaluation.

Thanks for your time. I’m planning to upgrade my PC with a GPU soon and will check if it improves things compared to the current setup or new components. Please let me know if anyone has any advice on the Fortnite problem before then—I haven’t found any other discussions about it.

Could be bad luck or chipmunks, but there is currently a big non-optional update to Fortnite. (60 GBish). Maybe your issue will go away after updating ? Anyway, you can't skip it. Good luck !

Attempted a furmark test and the PSU chose to shut down completely, resulting in a solid unit and halted crashes. We also reworked the GPU and temperatures improved, though the Fortnite issue remains.
