I overlooked the type of storage device you're using. If you're still relying on a traditional HDD, delays during file loading might be typical.

is there anyone whose Fortnite experience is lag-free right now? serious point—every CPU/GPU review I read shows Fortnite often stands out with stutters or delays, even on top systems that don’t struggle with other titles. lol... *runs Cyberpunk smoothly, solid performance* *Fortnite works great: definitely Fortnite xD*

You might want to test lower performance options, such as 480p, to see if Fortnite runs better on your system. Otherwise, it seems the game will keep having issues at that setting.

Sure, this might be the solution I was looking for. Fortnite has had some issues with performance on my system as well.
