PC specifications have been gathered; running Windows 10 on a 64-bit Intel Core i7 3770 at 3.50 GHz, 16GB DDR3 RAM. Using ASUSTeK Maximus V GENE motherboard, Nvidia graphics card XG270HU with 1440/144Hz display. I checked SPECCY, Perfmon, Report and SFC scans—no hardware problems or overheating detected. However, during gameplay like League of Legends, my FPS isn’t matching expectations despite optimal settings. My monitor recently switched to a 1440-144Hz model, which caused issues. Previously I maintained steady 300-350 FPS; now it drops to 100-175, with occasional 60 FPS in fights. Task Manager shows GPU usage around 25-30% at 60-75% CPU during intense moments. It seems there might be a bottleneck. Would upgrading any components help? Are there specific steps I should take to diagnose further? I’m concerned about not reaching the expected 144fps on my 1080ti.

It wasn't a bottleneck. Did you have a 1440p display before?

I used a 1080p display at 60Hz before, and it worked fine. Now I’m experiencing problems, especially dropping to 55-60fps in games like League of Legends. No one knows why this happens.

Additionally, when streaming on Twitch it gets even more problematic and feels very unresponsive. This only occurs with OBS during streaming, otherwise the issue is just about FPS. It also happens in World of Warcraft. At a steady 40-50 FPS, everything else is set to ultra except view distance. If you're not hitting a bottleneck, what upgrades should you think about? Your GPU is already considered.

Some AAA titles can slow down performance, and you'll notice it when your CPU is nearly full. Raising the resolution from 1080 to 1440 often reduces frames per second, but since your monitor only supports 144 fps, you shouldn’t worry about dropping below 300. For games like LoL that hit 60 FPS, it might point to a network or server problem rather than a hardware fault. I’m not certain about the precise cause, but it doesn’t seem to be related to your system components.

you might be experiencing low fps because of the hardware limitations or settings on your device. even though 1080ti supports 60fps, it can struggle at higher frame rates if the graphics card or driver isn't optimized. also, keeping other background processes running can reduce performance.

Consider reducing the settings; however, with just a new monitor in place, increasing the resolution to 1440p might be the root cause of the problem.

A fresh CPU, motherboard, or RAM could all make a difference depending on your needs.

Certainly, though it comes with a higher cost.

It seems the issue might be related to your monitor's display settings or calibration, not just your GPU performance. Even with a strong GPU, the monitor's refresh rate or input lag could affect the frame rate you see.
