Absolutely, it works great. 980Ti is ideal for this setup. With Gsync it doesn’t affect performance. 80fps still looks smooth and fast. I have one myself.

Consider trying both options, though in reality you might be able to adjust the settings to high or medium without much hassle. The France rate seems to matter more than the resolution.

Using just one 980ti chip works for some titles but most won’t hit 144fps. Many people have mentioned this before, and benchmarks confirm that 1440p at 144hz is the optimal setting. Right now I’m testing a single ti with my ROG Swift and planning to upgrade. I’m not sure about all the problems others discuss, but my Swift has performed excellently so far.

That's just nonsense. Every match runs perfectly at full settings and AA.

It seems the performance might vary depending on your setup. For reference, you can check the article here:

I'm considering these concerns based on the information available online. Many reports highlight problems with the ASUS ROG Swift, so it's wise to be cautious before making a purchase.

The XB280HK supports games running at 45-55 frames per second in 4K resolution using a single 980Ti GPU.

It really varies by game. I consistently achieve 144fps or higher, even with a high-end system, and I own a more costly setup than most people.

I wasn't aware of it, but from the way it sounds, I must have been lucky. The fact that it was made after November 2014 seems to be when they began shipping mostly without issues from ASUS. If I had known this earlier, I probably wouldn't have bought it. Still, I'm glad I didn't and don't wish I had. If you're after a 144hz model, I'd recommend the Swift or the Acer one—they both sound good.
