Adjust the rendering quality while keeping the screen size unchanged. Some titles support this through a pixel density control, or you can select a resolution that aligns perfectly with 4K.
For a 27-inch display, 1440p resolution works well. I previously discussed this at:
It's a 27-inch display. I've tested it at 1440p and it works well; otherwise, there aren't many options left.
You're not. Using a lower resolution than your monitor's native setting forces every frame to be scaled before it appears, whether on the GPU or monitor. This creates an excessive lag. This highlights why purchasing 4K monitors for gaming isn't advisable at this time.
The term "ridiculous" means extremely foolish or unbelievable.
What you mean is that you didn't know what to look for, and ridiculous is more than a frame of lag but there isn't an exact number because it varies depending on the monitor and how you choose to do it.
Okay. However I'm going to contend that is a subjective matter. Some people are fine with a frame of lag. Others are not. And it also depends on the time scale. 1 frame of lag at 144Hz is 7ms. 1 frame of lag at 60Hz is 16ms. I'm also calling into question if someone has done an actual scientific study (like how TFT Central does their input lag analysis) with scaling. All I can find is people going "it generates input lag."
