I'm a new user just starting out. My system runs an AMD Ryzen 9 with a 3900x core, and I've upgraded the GPU recently. Performance feels much lower than before. Even in lighter games like Valorant, FPS drops significantly. Utilization stays under 40% despite adjustments to drivers, Windows updates, and VSync settings. No improvements noticed.

Is the CPU struggling a lot? Are you using 1080p resolution?

Used DDU? If not, try DDU.

You didn't need to purchase a 7900XTX with a 3900x. New GPUs generally need the top-tier CPU to perform optimally. I think a 5800x3D would suffice if you're not upgrading your whole system. The main concern is whether in-game settings have been adjusted, which often occurs after GPU changes. Otherwise, check the power settings and related options. If unsure, consider trying DDU.

Yep, 7900xtx could be too powerful for your Ryzen 3 3900X. Are you referring to the Ryzen 9 3900X instead?

Yes, it seems the issue might be with the power supply unit. The 750W rating should provide sufficient headroom for a Ryzen 9 3900X.

Run at 1440p resolution. Most people think the CPU is limiting performance.

There could be a CPU limitation, but it doesn't account for the poor performance. A 3900X is still a solid processor (not as low-end as a R3 1200), and it's not as fast as a 5700XT, which is a much weaker card...

Performance is significantly lower compared to the 5700xt. It seems the power supply might not be delivering enough at this setting.

The PSU's impact isn't significant; it will supply just enough power for the GPU to draw.
