What kind of adjustments are being considered? When does this occur? What size are these adjustments? The 5800x3d model doesn't allow overclocking and isn't designed for it—just stick with the default options. Your 3D mark score is acceptable. We're aiming to resolve this issue. Auto usually means turning it off since PBO isn't supported, that's all... (I understand it can be achieved with third-party tools, but they aren't officially available).
In Overwatch performance feels very weak, around 1% lows like 480-540 FPS during fights, while my actual 1% drops land between 30-70. With the GPU boosted it improves a lot—now I see 400 FPS for those lows, sometimes dropping to 300 but never below that. The temperatures are lower and power usage is down to 260W instead of over 350 before.
PBO isn't working as expected. My 5800x3d only functions with the Asus Amp. I'm unsure about the DOcP setting, but in the BIOS curve optimizer it's currently at -30.
I’ve been thinking about capturing a screenshot of my BIOS to demonstrate my settings since we share a similar motherboard. As @Mark Kaine mentioned, I realized how constrained the BIOS is with the 5800X3D chipset—you really can’t go wrong. Spend a bit experimenting and you’ll discover the optimal setting for your CPU. However, I’m not sure it’s the main cause of any microstutters. Here are my current configurations with a small voltage offset; make sure to turn off ASUS performance enhancement. What I find helpful is capping FPS per game based on monitor refresh rate—around 144Hz or similar. This helps with noise and power use, not just pushing 500 FPS. Spoiler: it works for me.
Thanks for the support. I focused on the Ram Speed model with a 16GB (2x8) configuration, kept it locked and optimized the timings to 3600MHz at 1400MHz clock speed. Stability improved significantly, pushing my 1% loads into a much better state. Also updated my time spy score to 17382—GPU 18990, CPU 11748. I’m really pleased with the results. My memory latency dropped from around 80ms to about 65ms, though I’m not sure if that’s due to a newer iOS update. The only changes I made were lowering the CPU voltage and slightly increasing the SOc voltage. Appreciate the help!
