I recently assembled a new gaming PC setup. The specs are MOBO-b550f-gaming, Wi-Fi 2, WD black 2TB, NVMe storage, a 5800X3D CPU, a Gigabyte Gaming OC 3080, fresh paste pads, an RMA850W power supply, Corsair LX 2x16 at 3200MHz in slots 2 and 4, and a 280mm NZXT AIO case. That should cover the basics. However, I’ve experienced frame drops regardless of frame rate settings. After a fresh install, I thought it might help, but it didn’t. I updated the BIOS after booting into Volted CPU, but the GPU remains stock. I’ve done a fresh RAM installation using DDU in safe mode with Wi-Fi disabled and drivers updated. I changed chipset drivers, adjusted Windows power settings, modified NVCP power settings, and tried other tweaks. Still no improvement. I’m trying to figure this out, as I work a lot. Sorry if my answers aren’t quick—I’m fairly tech-savvy but stuck on this issue. Just wanted to share what I’ve done so far. If you have any suggestions, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!

PBO scalar seems inactive on this system, so leaving it on auto is ideal. Re-Bar should stay enabled. You likely undervolted the CPU using a negative voltage offset, and the CO was set to -30.

I will disable PBO and confirm a negative 30 offset rebar is present. The GPU BIOS has been updated to the latest VBios, including rebar support.

Tried disabling PBO and removing undervolt settings. Current voltage is around -25. Tonight I’ll reinstall 3D Mark and check time, FPS, and FUR data. I see CPU drops when FPS falls, and sometimes the CPU exits Boost. Power limit 1 appears intermittently, affecting performance. I’ll also log with the HW monitor and MSI post-burn to gather more details.

I’d retain pbo but adjust the scaling at 10x. You can keep it on or enable advanced settings, though the motherboard limits the best performance you’ll achieve with a 5800x3d—curveoptimizer gives the most gains. It’s hard to tell if your micro is stuttering from the CPU, GPU, or another source; what model do you have (3080)? Your VRAM usage in games matters too—if it’s near full, stutters likely come from the VRAM buffer, so changing settings might help. What’s your Cinebench R23 score?

I’ll retrieve the Cinebench R23 results after I’m back. Last time I checked, it performed similarly to the 5800X3D, but tonight I expect a solid score. It’s a 3080 at 10GB RAM on Overwatch; I’ll run the benchmark now. I’ll also look at the frame buffer value since that’s what I set to auto earlier. Once I’m home, I’ll download everything, configure it, and upload. The next session will run at 2560x1440p with 180fps on my Asus monitor.

I recently discovered quoting and plan to start doing it right away. Upload expected within the next hour or so.

Reviewed 14851 on Cinebench Time Spy score for photo handling. Info shows it's after the timespy result. Another link provided: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/131181048?

I just completed these tests and the Cinebench score looks solid. It matches what it should for the CPU and stays within 500 points during the timing check. Your CPU reached its maximum frequency throughout the Time Spy test? That’s likely because you locked that speed. (Reference: your setup)

I might have used PBO scalar at that moment, but it appears to be working better. It’s possible the CPU was overworking itself and becoming unstable—I’m not sure. However, having PBO enabled seems much more stable now. Thanks for the assistance!
