Rainbow Six improved to DLSS and I was excited. But I’m seeing about 220 fps without it, while it drops to around 200 when it’s active. Anyone know why that difference occurs?

You might still want DLSS even at around 220fps to boost performance, reduce latency, and enhance overall frame stability.

No one needs anything when it comes to videogames.

The laptop features a 240 Hz display, which can further lower latency as well

It might connect with G-sync, V-sync, or a similar frame rate controller. I’d also double-check that your graphics drivers are current.

It seems like you're wondering if your system might be more constrained by the CPU than the GPU when using DLSS. Since you haven't played RSS before DLSS was added, I don't know its impact on your game specifically.

Test outcome remains stable despite noticeable GPU utilization near 90% and CPU usage around 40% under these conditions

This doesn't indicate a CPU bottleneck. You can also experience CPU limitations at 20% utilization. When the game runs on just one core and that core is completely busy, your performance will remain modest, though the game may still be constrained by CPU power. I'm not claiming this is the case here, but it's a potential factor. In practice, even at top competitive levels, you won't see significant differences due to 20fps when you're already exceeding 200 fps.

Your DLSS configuration is set to a specific resolution and mode. Please let me know if you'd like details on those settings.
