I’ve done this before, so my top tip is to 1, ensure the thermal paste fully covers both the CPU and GPU die without pressing down on them, and 2, carefully remove the heatsink by loosening and tightening the screws in the correct sequence (numbers are likely on the heatsink or mount). Also, avoid damaging the heat pipes—don’t squeeze or grab if you don’t need to. GL on your repaired attempt!

It's a very dangerous situation – Asus, despite using custom heatsinks for liquid metal, still encounters leaks and burns on the die. Liquid metal isn't really suitable for standard laptops unless conditions are perfectly managed.
