Hello there! Just a quick note—this might not be the right spot for your query. I'm using Windows 7 on an HDD and want to switch it to install Windows 7 on an SSD, setting the SSD as the top boot option while keeping the HDD as a secondary one. From what I've found online so far: 1. Disconnect the HDD while Windows 7 is running. 2. Verify the SSD is in AHCI mode. 3. Set the SSD as the first boot priority. 4. After installing Windows 7, restart and connect the HDD. Your concern about making mistakes is totally understandable!

You can keep everything intact, including Windows 7, on your HDD and maintain it as a secondary boot option without losing partitions.
