A new motherboard has been delivered and I rebuilt the PC from scratch. The same problem continues to occur. I suspect it might be related to my setup rather than the hardware itself. After checking the CPU on the motherboard swap, everything seems fine there. It doesn’t appear to be a GPU issue since the system is detecting it correctly.
i've encountered a comparable problem that hasn't resolved on my old 9900k rog stix z390-e dual 2080ti SLI configuration. one GPU is displaying 4x during load while the other reaches 8x, yet hwinfo64 reports both cards showing 8.0 GT/s under load—suggesting everything seems to be functioning at expected speeds. possibly the readout data becomes unstable sometimes. i attempted a swap between the GPUs, but even after replacing them, the card positioned in the top PCIe slot still reports incorrect multipliers. this issue also appeared with my previous setup, 8700k rog strix z370-e dual 1080, which was fixed by adjusting the bios settings, though a week later the top GPU failed to power on.
