PC suddenly shuts down while loading GPU.
The motherboard has an eight-pin and a four-pin CPU connector. Can I disregard the four-pin connector? Is a 650W power supply sufficient for my system?
The RM650x features a single 8-pin (4+4) EPS connector. The additional 4-pin connector on the motherboard is solely for overclocking purposes. A second EPS modular cable from Corsair ($4) can be purchased to provide extra power, but this will decrease the number of PCI-e power connections available (two 6+2 connectors instead of four, as EPS and PCI-e utilize the same ports on the PSU).
Additional CPU and four PCI-e connectors are available as alternative options (though these come at a slightly higher cost).
